The Whores of Babylon DVD (CLASSIC EPISODES #172 3-9-2001) is now available through the Whalebone Productions online store. The DVD includes the standard 29 Live opening footage, which is actually a bonus feast for the ears and eyes. Although a few clips have been viewable online for several months, the newly edited DVD sports eight songs in all, captured live and in the raw, by the Whores of Babylon. Included on the DVD are performances of; Happy Fly, R.I.P., Hail Mary, Symphony, Miss You/Soul Hollow, Gothic Garages, Liar, and How Could You? Both Hail Mary and How Could You? are for the present found only on the new DVD. Additional editing and production was done by Rob Hursh (Whalebone Productions) and Allen Ensign (enkimusic & film) in 2006. The band breaks a sweat here on this DVD, and there is an urgency, if not a go-for-broke energy in the playing. In all, the DVD serves as the definitive "live" record of the Seattle based power trio, and makes a nice compliment to the band's CD, Gothic Garages, available at CDbaby. Priced at $15, the DVD is a good value, and provides the viewer better resolution and overall quality than the promotional clips already online.
